I'm lucky to live by the sea.
I was crew on my local lifeboat for the last 12 years and retired in October last year.
I knew I would miss being out on the water so I bought a little rowing boat in December.
It's been far too stormy to launch this winter.
However, it's spring, the sea is calm, and I have just been on my maiden voyage!
It was a gorgeously still evening and I rowed out into the bay and let myself drift.
